The San Diego Black Birthworkers Collective began in 2023 as a space to build community amongst Black birthworkers in San Diego County. The collective aims to create tangible avenues of support for Black birthworkers through continuing to host events while also offering a Birthworker-Community Fund which will provide transportation and food assistance to Black birthworkers and families alike.
CALIFORNIA BLACK WOMEN’S HEALTH PROJECT, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 1994 as an affiliate of the Black Women’s Health Imperative (formerly National Black Women’s Health Project) based in Washington D.C. We seek to empower women to become active participants in improving their health status.
