Our Clinics

Finding affordable, high-quality, and culturally sensitive chest/breastfeeding support can be challenging. That's why SDLEA was created—to ensure every family has access to this essential care, which is a human right, not a privilege. We address barriers like systemic racism in healthcare, which disproportionately affects Black and BIPOC communities, and financial hardships. For those without insurance or struggling to afford private consultations, we offer sliding-scale fees, starting at just $0–$30 per visit for eligible families.

How we operate:

Each clinic operates independently and is owned by its respective operator. SDLEA neither owns nor runs any clinics; we subcontract all practitioners. Lactation consultants serve SDLEA clients, and we subsidize their visits. Consultants receive their full hourly rate, while clients pay little to nothing.

What Our Clients Say

Gina B.

“Having access to lactation care has been God sent honestly. Working with Melanin Milk SD has been such a blessing! After giving birth and having bruising from my baby’s latching, she came to the rescue one day after getting out of the hospital and to my home! One less thing to worry about after just having a baby. She shared so much information, I felt equipped to run the “new mommy world” I had just embarked on.”
