Our Clinics

Finding affordable, high-quality, and culturally sensitive chest/breastfeeding support can be challenging. That's why SDLEA was created—to ensure every family has access to this essential care, which is a human right, not a privilege. We address barriers like systemic racism in healthcare, which disproportionately affects Black and Bipoc communities, and financial hardships. For those without insurance or struggling to afford private consultations, we offer sliding-scale fees, starting at just $30 per visit for eligible families which includes: Black, indigenous, asian, latin and other people of color, as well as low income families who are receiving WIC or medi-cal and military families who identify with the Bipoc community. This is in order to address the disparities and barriers to care for these otherwise vulnerable populations.

How we operate:

Each clinic operates independently and is owned by its respective operator. SDLEA neither owns nor runs any clinic sites; we subcontract with all practitioners. Lactation consultants serve SDLEA clients, and we subsidize those visits. Consultants receive their full hourly rate, while clients pay a small co-pay less than a typical consultation fee which can be upwards of $250 - $300 per visit and multiple visits are generally needed.
